Jr. Stock Class (Age 14-18)
The Jr. Stock class is a
beginning/novice class, which will have only youth racing; NO adults
will be in this class. Trophies by class/night sponsor are the awards.
BMP
Speedway Official Track Rules apply to this class.
This
is to be an inexpensive class but safety is crucial.
1. The age for this group
is 14-18
yrs old, 13 year old may race if proof of a minimum
of two years prior
competitive organized automotive racing experience is provided.
2. Any 14-18 year old who
has not
previously participated in competition must complete a new
driver
orientation,
conducted by track officials or other authorized official(s) prior to
competition.
3. Safety is critical and
will be
closely checked by track officials.
4. This is a no contact
class.
5. You MUST show
proof of
your age when you sign in your car, We will accept a current driver
license
or
current student photo 10.
6. BMP Speedway will hold
to a NO
tolerance policy to the use of alcohol & drugs!!
You MUST have a
signed minor
release form each year. This form must be signed by both parents and
notarized.
Once the release form is on file at the BMP Speedway office, the
minor WILL
sign in each time the car is signed in to race. The minor release
form may
be obtained by contacting the BMP Speedway office.
Eligible Vehicle Models:
Any
American/Foreign 1980 or newer single or dual cam front wheel drive
only. No
All Wheel Drive; No Convertibles; No Rotary Engines; No 4WD; No Turbo
Chargers;
No Nitrous; No Pickup Trucks or Mini-Vans. OEM Steel bodies &
panels; No
Plastic; No Homemade.
Wheel
Base (center front axle to center rear axle): Minimum 90" Maximum
103"
Engine/Exhaust
Stock OEM
for make/model/year. 4 cylinder only. Stock fuel system for
make/model/year.
Stock OEM headers for make/model/year. No added performance parts.
Catalytic
converters must be removed. Exhaust must run in stock OEM
configuration
or exit in front of driver side rear wheel under floor pan. Kill switch
to
electric fuel pump mandatory and located on driver side upper
window
post; switch to be painted safety orange. Stock OEM coolant can to
remain in
stock position. Muffler optional. Remove all antifreeze-water only for
coolant.
Suspension:
Stock OEM
for make/model/year no modification(s). No added performance parts.
Steering:
Stock
OEM for year/make/model. No alterations, no quick release steering.
Dash,
steering & pedals must remain in stock position.
Interior/Seat
Driver seat - factory
high back
bucket seat must be made non-adjustable with seat back mechanically
locked or
pinned in place (See Diagram). Approved mounted 5 point racing seatbelt
harness
in excellent condition mandatory. Condition of belts are
subject to
technical inspection approval. All other interior flammable material,
passenger
seats, headliner, dash pad (if not integral part of dash), carpet, glue
to be
removed. One (1) interior rearview mirror allowed. All airbags must be
removed.
No additional weight(s) may be added of any kind.
Electrical System:
Battery
stock location for year/make/model. Positive battery terminal must be
covered
with nonconductive material. Electric fans ok.
Car am/fm
radios must remain intact and in working order. No two-way radio
communication allowed.
Car horn
must remain intact and in working order
All
cars must have 3rd brake light on upper center of rear window opening
and in
working order.
Exterior:
Remove all
windows/windshields;
moldings; emblems; exterior trim; plastic filler panels located between
bumpers
& body, header & rear panel (smc items - sheet molded
compounds). Stock
bumpers & mounts no modifications. Two tow hooks or cable (minimum
cable of
3/8") attached to frame on front & rear. Approved quick release
window
net mandatory (See Diagram). Minimum of 1" mesh with quick
release
seat belt type located top and outside driver opening. No string or
close net
off road type window net. No additional weight(s) may be added of any
kind.
Install
a minimum of four (4) 1/4" steel rod in front windshield area opening
to
protect driver from debris.
Fuel
Tank:
Stock
location in front of rear axle-no models will be allowed that have
tank
located behind rear axle.
Hood&
Trunk Lid:
Hood requires a minimum
of two (2)
hood pins, hood latch must be removed but factory hinges must remain in
working
order. Hood requires one six (6) inch diameter hole be cut in center of
hood
for access in case of fire. All insulation under hood must be removed.
Trunk/deck lid requires a minimum of two (2) pins.
Wheels/Tires/Brakes:
Stock
steel or stock aluminum wheels - All four (4) tires & wheels must
be
identical on all four (4) points of the car.
Maximum
Tire Size: 13" 185/70; 14" 205/70; 15" 205/70; 16" 215/65
Only passenger DOT street legal tires. No mud, snow, grooved, syped,
studded
tires. All 4
tires must be the same size numerically--NO EXCEPTIONS. Minimum
air pressure per tire 281bs.
Stock
brakes for make/model. No adjustable brake bias or shut off valves.
Brake pedal
must remain in stock position. All brakes must work.
Roll
Cage:
Minimum four (4) point
roll cage
required. (See Diagram) Will be full width side to side, will extend
from front
firewall (all holes in front firewall to be completely closed off with
minimum
of 20 gauge steel) to front of rear wheel housing. Will be constructed
of a
minimum of 1 ˝ O.D. x .095 steel wall tubing. Driver must have minimum
of
2" clearance over helmeted head. No exhaust tubing, drill stem pipe or
other material will be allowed. Front bars must follow contour of
windshield.
All contact points with floor will be mounted with a 4"x4"x1/4” steel plate welded to bottom of cage and
bolted to a matching plate through floor pan (See Diagram). All bars to
be
gusseted at seams. Cross bar behind driver seat. Approved mounted 5
point
racing seatbelt harness in excellent condition mandatory. Condition
of
belts are subject to technical inspection approval. Approved 5 point
seat belt
racing harness to be mounted to cross bar. Inside door panels must be
trimmed
for roll bar clearance. There will be three (3) door bars across driver
side
under window opening - two (2) door bars across passenger side
beginning
4" below bottom of window opening. Drivers side door(s) to be welded
shut.
Passenger side door(s} to be chained closed with latches & hinges
left
intact & working. All driver contact points will be padded.
Appearance/Numbering:
All cars to be neatly and
brightly
painted no dark colors. All cars will display a two (2) digit
number
series (00-99). No duplicate numbers allowed. Number will be a minimum
of
18" in a definite high contrasting color on each door, minimum of 24"
in height on roof. Number on roof to be readable from passenger side.
The two
digit number will be neatly placed on right rear comer of tail panel
area, as
large as possible but fitting in the assigned area.
Helmet/Gloves/Driving
Suit/Eye
Protection:
Approved
safety helmet mandatory and must meet a Snell SA2000 or higher
rating,
bear proper identification and bear no signs of previous damage. Eye
protection
is mandatory.
It is mandatory that
all
drivers wear a minimum of a single layer approved SFI3.2A-1 suit that
is
manufactured specifically for the purpose of automotive racing with SF
rating
sticker intact that effectively covers the body from neck to ankles and
wrist
at all times. Neck brace/collar mandatory. Approved racing
gloves mandatory.
No welding gloves, gardening gloves etc.
Approved
racing shoes or leather boots mandatory. No tennis type or
nylon shoes
permitted.
Feature
Winner: Will
start
last on the field at their next attended event.
Claiming:
Top 3 cars of the main
feature can
be claimed by any driver of that feature for $750.00 cash only payable
at time
of claim. Claims will be presented to track official within five (5)
minutes of
completion of main feature. Claimed driver will retain 5 point harness.
Driver
claiming a car must race the car at the next scheduled Jr.
Stock race at
the BMP Speedway track. If the claimed car is not raced, the car
will be
forfeited to the BMP Speedway and becomes the property of the BMP
Speedway
to be raffled off to the main grandstand spectators. BMP Speedway
management reserves
the right to claim any car.

The rules and/or
regulations set
forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing
events
and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These
rules
shall govern the condition of all speedway events and by participating
in these
events, all speedway competitors are deemed to have complied with these
rules.
No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication
of, or
compliance with these rules and regulations. They are intended as a
guide for
the conduct of the sport and in no way are a guarantee against injury
or death
to participants, spectators or others.
FLAG RULES:
GREEN:
Race has
started
and will continue until the green is replace by another colored flag.
(The
track is open for racing. No passing is allowed until crossing
start/finish
line to begin first lap. With a restart, passing is allowed on the
right side
only after the Green Flag has been displayed.)
YELLOW:
Caution,
immediately slow down and maintain position.
(All cars
must safely slow to original parade lap speed as soon as possible.
Racing to
the start/finish line is allowed only when the YELLOW Flag is
displayed
with the CHECKERED flag.)
RED:
Immediate
safe stop
on the track. Do not continue or pass.
(Follow the directions of
the
Officials for the designated areas to park your car until emergency
crews are
finished working. Then proceed at the display of the YELLOW Flag
at pace
lap speed. No work can be performed on cars during a Red Flag
period.
Violators will be assessed a 2 lap penalty.)
BLACK:
Pull off
the track
(due to).
A. Racing violation;
banging,
bumping, etc.
B. Mechanical problem;
broken parts,
missing parts, smoke C. Failure to follow track official directions.
D. Driver inability to
control car.
(A driver that is given
the Black
Flag must pull into the pit area or any other area that the officials
have designated
during the Drivers' Meeting for consultation. If a Driver does not pull
over
within 3 laps, that driver will be disqualified for Flag disobedience.
If there
are less than 3 laps remaining in the race when a driver is Black
Flagged, the
scoring will stop at the time the flag is displayed.)
(CROSSED
FLAGS: The
race is
halfway completed.)
WHITE:
last lap.
Also used
crossed with the green flag to indicate 1h way.
(There
is one lap remaining in the race.)
CHECKERED:
End of
race.
(The race is officially
over. All
cars must pass under the Checkered Flag to score the final lap. A
Yellow and
Checkered Flag may be displayed simultaneously. This is the only
situation when
racing to the finish line under caution is allowed.)
